Emergency/Disaster Plan

Not until confirmation can be obtained that 3A Pet Sitting’s family and business are safe and secure will the disaster plan be implemented.

Inclement Weather (Ice, Freezing Rain, Snow, Windstorms, etc.)

Clients With Service In Process:

  1. 3A Pet Sitting will make sure every effort to drive safely to your home.
  2. If we have prior notice of such weather conditions, we will make necessary preparations in your home to ensure that your pets have enough water, food and shelter in case service modifications become necessary.
  3. The scheduled service (or Sitter) may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances.
  4. If not possible to drive safely to your home, your emergency contact will be notified.
  5. 3A Pet Sitting will notify you that the contingency plan has been activated by phone, email, website, or text. 

Pending Clients:

  1. Please check with 3A Pet Sitting prior to departure or scheduled service date to discuss the situation/options.
  2. If necessary, your emergency contact will initiate service, and 3A Pet Sitting and/or your Sitter will continue/complete service as driving conditions improve.

Natural & Manmade Disasters (Earthquake, Flooding, Terrorist Attack, etc.)

Clients With Service In Process:

  1. Depending on what services are operational, you will be notified by 3A Pet Sitting that a disaster has occurred by phone, email, website, or text.
  2. Your home and your pets will be checked as soon as possible.  If road conditions are hazardous, your emergency contact will be notified.
  3. All pets in jeopardy will be taken to a safe location as soon as possible.  Please have a crate for transport & current shot records readily available. (Animal shelters will not accept pets without them.)
  4. The scheduled service may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances.
  5. If necessary, please return home as soon as possible.  Call 3A Pet Sitting immediately upon your arrival.

Pending Clients:

  1. Please check with 3A Pet Sitting prior to departure or scheduled service date to discuss the situation/options.
  2. Homes and pets for clients who are NOT presently in service WILL NOT be checked.

Personal Emergency (Accident, Illness or Death)

Clients With Service In Progress:

  1. 3A Pet Sitting will make effort to provide scheduled services as agreed upon.
  2. The scheduled service (or Sitter) may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances.
  3. If necessary, your emergency contact will be notified to assist in providing service.
  4. You will be notified that the contingency plan has been activated by phone, email, website, or text.

Pending Clients:

  1. 3A Pet Sitting will contact you to discuss the situation/options.
  2. If 3A Pet Sitting is unable to provide you with scheduled service, please assist in making other plans and confirm any changes with 3A Pet Sitting.
  3. Depending on circumstances, 3A Pet Sitting will provide service as soon as possible.

Household Emergency (Fire, Theft or Internal Flooding)

Clients With Service In Progress:

  1. The appropriate Agency will be called immediately if necessary.
  2. 3A Pet Sitting will contact you to discuss the situation/options.
  3. The household emergency contact will be contacted immediately depending on the severity of the situation to start the clean up and/or repair if you can’t be reached.
  4. All pets in jeopardy will be taken to a safe location as soon as possible.  Please have a crate for transport & current shot records readily available. (Animal shelters will not accept pets without them.)
  5. The scheduled service may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances.
  6. If necessary, please return home as soon as possible.  Call 3A Pet Sitting immediately upon your arrival.
